Me and Rob almost 20 years ago
Rob and I started building PitchedIt in 2021 and, like most other companies, we’ve gone through a number of changes and transformations as the business has evolved. Many have been minor, but some have been very significant. We’ve seen many companies that started up around the same time as us falter, and ultimately shut down. We see this not only as a testament to our own innate resilience but, more importantly, our ability to accept when things aren’t working and adapt quickly. These qualities have been forged through more than two decades of friendship, trust, and loyalty. Rob is my yin and I am Rob's yang. Just ask our wives…
Just as PitchedIt has evolved, so have we. Our personal goals, our understanding of the problem we’re solving, and our ambition of what we believe this company can achieve, have all shifted dramatically over the last two years. We now have a renewed clarity of what we’re setting out to accomplish and the vast number of people whose lives our business can have a long-term positive impact on, should we be successful. And we don’t take that responsibility lightly. Our goal is to build a business with longevity baked in from the beginning. A business Rob and I will be proud lifetime members of ourselves. Because, at the end of the day, we’re building this business to solve a problem we both experienced ourselves.
So, while the business has evolved, and we’ve evolved, something that hasn’t evolved is… our brand. Now, brand is a big word. It encompasses many different elements that combine to define what a company is and how it’s perceived by the world. In this particular case, we’re speaking mostly about our visual identity: our name and logo; the colours we use; and any visual design elements we use. All of these elements had been created somewhat organically during the early days of PitchedIt, and they made sense for what the company represented at that moment in time. This is no longer the case.
With that in mind, we decided to put some big changes in motion. Over the last number of weeks, we’ve been working with a great friend, and globally recognised design director, to help us define the new direction of our visual identity. An identity that speaks to the renewed mission and vision of our business. An identity that aligns with our core values. An identity that people will immediately be drawn to and feel familiar with, but also quick to recognise its point of difference. An identity that will inspire a generation to build their financial future.
Soon we’ll be saying goodbye to PitchedIt and hello to something new and exciting. We couldn’t be more excited to reveal our refreshed identity to all of you; our loyal subscribers.
Stay tuned friends…

The Unsophisticated Investor is brought to you by Scott & Rob, the founders of PitchedIt. We’re both sick of private markets being a playground exclusive to the ultra-wealthy so we started a company to challenge the status-quo. PitchedIt’s singular focus is to unlock private markets for Millennial and Gen Z retail investors and help them build wealth through the highest performing private market opportunities.
